Enviro-Link:
Building and designing green will, become the norm.
We all know why, but we do not all know how. Many
architects, interior designers, developers, building
engineers and those that build, own or manage
buildings must be kept informed on products and
services used in the green process. As we have over the
past 13 plus years, brought you the latest in products
and technologies, we will continue to assist you by
bringing you closer to the greening of our industry.
More companies are realizing that the buildings they
design or own can be environmentally friendly, cost
efficient and great looking as well. For many of you, the
immediate concern is the ROI. How many times have
we heard the phrase, ‘Green means expensive up front’?
Yet we all know that green buildings and designs can
deliver significant economic benefits and more than
pay-off over time.
Again, we go back to where to find all the knowledge to
make informed decisions. Suppliers and manufacturers
can assist you. They are the best partners and are
qualified to make comprehensive strategic
recommendations. It is also necessary to comparison
shop. There is a plethora of green products that have
entered the market in recent years, for any project size.
Info-Link has always been unique in its approach to
informing professionals about building and design
products and services in general. We now take this
approach to the green area.
Some fear that the cost of green strategies will be even
higher with renovations. Existing buildings can also be
green. Renovating with new technologies and products
allowing greater access to sunlight, a new air
purification system that boosts employee productivity,
building materials that do not give off gasses, energy
saving lighting/lamps, and on and on can all be
designed into green renovations. There are many green
building and design strategies that can be started at
many different price points and levels. Knowing what
they are and who has them is something we can help
with, hence the new Enviro-Link section which appears
in this issue. You will recognize products that apply by
the Enviro-Link logo.
